BPI is right--the WWII generation (AKA "The Greatest Generation") were the peak. Worked their asses off, sacrificed, didn't talk much about the hell they endured during WWII. They had it hard, and for the most part, got after it.
IMO, baby boomers is where major entitlement started. Many boomers will disagree, but that's where the largest change was. Downhill since then. There are needles in hay stacks, even with the young folks now. But fewer now than in years past.
