I'm 21 miles north of Montgomery.
I've seen 2 different bucks chasing a doe each...on my land. One chased a doe across my front yard on Monday morning at 7:00 am. I was feeding the dog and a doe trotted up to the edge of my yard...looking back with her ears up. She ran to some woods...I eased up beside an oak tree and remained still....and the buck came running behind her. He looked to be an 8-point...but it was so quick that I can't be certain.
The other was yesterday at 11:30 pm; in woods I can see from my side yard. The jaybirds were having conniption fits in the woods below my house. I eased over there and glimpsed a doe with a buck walking behind her. He looked like a 6-point but it was in some brush and I didn't have my field glasses.
I've been under the weather and unable to hunt this week.

I dont know about hard core, I just like to kill deer. Not going to let that 160 get in the way of that. I hunted monday morning and rattled in a cull, but haven't seen any chaseing. Hope it picks up soon.

They are chasing pretty hard in Bulluck County at our place and around. Our place in Montgomery County not showing any sign of chasing, but the small fellows are starting to roam around and stir up trouble. Should be any day now, things should start to perk up some.

I hunted this weekend in Conecuh Co. south of Evergreen and wouldn't say the rut was happening there yet. I had a young buck come out on a food plot a few minutes after a couple of does walked out, and he had no interest in either of them. The does here are just not in estorus yet.

Seen a eight behind a doe sat. morning then a three and a seven that afternoon, they weren't behind does but they were up looking.It's picking up,just in time.

I killed an 8 point chasing a doe on Saturday near Crowe Hill in Troy. He was grunting and chasing and stunk like hell.
All my friends here in Troy say they're rutting good all around here.
