I'm 21 miles north of Montgomery.
I've seen 2 different bucks chasing a doe each...on my land. One chased a doe across my front yard on Monday morning at 7:00 am. I was feeding the dog and a doe trotted up to the edge of my yard...looking back with her ears up. She ran to some woods...I eased up beside an oak tree and remained still....and the buck came running behind her. He looked to be an 8-point...but it was so quick that I can't be certain.
The other was yesterday at 11:30 pm; in woods I can see from my side yard. The jaybirds were having conniption fits in the woods below my house. I eased over there and glimpsed a doe with a buck walking behind her. He looked like a 6-point but it was in some brush and I didn't have my field glasses.
I've been under the weather and unable to hunt this week.
