It was so cold at 5 feet that I could only do 1.5 minutes max and had to float around and warm up. After I dorked around in the area - there was zero visibility. Had to feel my way along. Found something sharp and ginched up my back from falling while pulling her up.

Sadly - I don't think so. My blood's cheap though so......

That one hurt real bad with the alcohol. 2" long, 1/2" deep and missing a triangular shaped chunk out of one end. Packed with lake bottom gunk. Can't reach it to put a couple stitches in it (could use three but missing a chunk and nothing to sew to) so got a really big band aid and some tape wraps. It's all good. If someone that can stitch wants to come help in the next 6 hours or so - I would be all for it.

Geno, you really should consider selling those narrrow canoes and either get an extra wide canoe or a 14 foot wide aluminum boat that won't tip over so easy. Most new aluminum boats have float foam installed and would be almost impossible to sink if not maxed out load wise. Your situation may not have ended so good, especially when it comes to cold weathers effect on the body. Well, at least your fish would have made it!

I know you're grown and all that stuff but you really should consider a visit to the Doc for an antibiotic shot. River water can be very dangerous in open wounds. I hate going to the doctor as much as anyone but sometimes you really just have to say a few bad words and do it. At minimum soak it several times a day in a strong salt water solution.

I am still recovering from a staph infection in my knee from 2/22. Trust me you do not want that kind of infection, take damn good care of it.

Yep - not joking at all about crud from the bottom of waterways. I'm certain I stirred up deposits from many decades ago so you know the bad juju is in there in addition to just the regular not good crud.

I cleaned it with a jet spray from a hand held shower attachment after I had showered completely and thoroughly (hurt like hell), sterilized it with denatured alcohol (hurt so bad I had to stop a few times and restart - and I regularly stitch myself up and perform minor surgery on myself) filled her up with antibiotic ointment and applied a large bandage that covers it completely. It's important that it stay covered completely as I have a pack of animals in the house and pet dander is the worst thing ever for that sort of wound.

If I need an antibiotic shot, I'll give myself one or more as needed. I only need doctors when I accidentally detach a part from myself or I think I am going to die.

Back where she belongs with a few bumps and bruises. Pressure wash her as soon as I can and then install her flotation.

I thought they were just normal feet until I came here. Apparently I have some sort of foot weirdness going on I was not aware of.

You have no idea - when I reset the outside crap after the last power outage, I accidentally unplugged the pool stuff for like 2 weeks. Then hunkered down inside during the rain and cold so I didn't see it. It was BLACK. It's never been black before. It's salt water with a generator so it's been running every day for a week now and still green. I been putting chlorine in it but it's still a little green.
