We haven’t heard a turkey at the house since Stephen killed the one opening morning. Kind of aggravating.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Gobbling good down here. Just none on our section. I think we drew the worst section on the whole place for turkeys.

Set up on one he gobbles probably 20’times on the limb I hear him fly down and goes silent.so I cut at him and hen fired up me and her arguing back and forth and her she comes along with a whole flock of hens and 3 long beards she got within about 50 and decides she didn’t like something and turned and took the flock with her! Going give em a few hours try’s again going try find a lonely one now

Called a hot one in but he hung up on the other side of a downed pine at about 40 yards. Watched him strut for 30 min, but he never did take that extra 10 steps. Lots of drumming, spitting, and gobbling though.

Got me one this morning, second turkey ever. Didn't gobble a bit but him and a buddy almost ran me over after a soft call sequence. I am standing on a logging road near where I know turkeys roost and let out a couple calls, and immediately I hear something making a bee line to me from downhill. I take a knee and see a bright blue head crest the hill and he gets nervous and walks away. His friend stepped into a window and I let out one soft yelp to get his head up and let him have it at about 8 yards. Feels good to be on the board!

Super thick looking through the pine needles. Could see him fan out then down fan out then down. That tree looked like it uprooted in the storms last week. I almost set up in that tree. wish I did now, but was trying not to get busted. He closed the last 100 yards pretty quick.

Found the hot one down the road with a flock of ladies on a hardwood ridge, my little 410 at 46yds didn’t work out. But it was one hell of a show!

Hunted all morning, not a peep again. Only heard 1 bird this season so far. Wind got up around 830 and that was about it

Heard one bird 5-6 times in S Montgomery. Pretty chilly too. Hopefully the good Lord sees it fit to allow me another chance at them tomorrow.

Heck of a morning!!! I got on a gobbler at daylight and watched him fly down about 100 yards from me. There was a small ridge between us and I was hopeful he’d come peek over the ridge. He never would crest the hill and finally eased off the other direction about 7:00...I was circling him when I heard another bird get fired up about 7:20...I set up between them and called 2 gobblers in about an hour later (they were the second group; not the one I messed with at daylight) #3 down!! Well the birds were finally on me and I still did not get them 🤣 and I still felt out of position for most of hunt. I snuck into bottom in dark - hens are with gobblers and if I hang back at 100-125 and they are at 40 from him i toast and they been being cross property line. Most all of them are behind me this morning and I am locked down - walked right under gobbler in the dark - he only gobble about 4 times - great hunt. I think I heard about 7-8 fly down. 3 where within 30 yards in the tree and 2 of those flew across creek - think it was a hen and silent/subordinate gob that flew across. Heard close scratching and drumming for the longest time - I had only called very sparingly after fly down and very light. Wind finally picks up and I not hearing any scratching and after about 2 1/2 hours sitting like a statue I turn and face them - Finally make a few calls -
A little more aggressive- feel way more confident since I am facing birds - nothing - I sit silent and 10-15 min later 3 hens pitch off bench to about 40-45 yards - I think I got him - when they behind stuff - I turn toward hens quickly - never call again - I just waiting for him as they fed - About 30 minutes later i am still watching hens wondering if he still breading some or what is up and I hear one cluck right behind me - hens all leave - I guess it was him telling me I am here where r you. They make u feel like Barney Fiffe and Elmer fud all rolled into one. I hope my stupid butt kills him before the season is over. Very positive they were finally on me
