Thats a good price on some shotgun shells.
Look the ammo company doesnt give a damn how much stores (online or instore) charge for ammo. They price it at 2.50 a box as long as the retailer pays that price, the rest is free market. If you have never owned a gun before and you see 49.50 for bullets...do you really know thats too much?

So a person builds a house at cost of $150k in a $150k average cost neighborhood and then puts on market to sell at $300k. 10 people look at it with 9 saying "that's overpriced". Guy 10 comes along and agrees to buy the overpriced $300k house. Is it the seller's fault someone wants to pay twice what most think house is worth? No, the house is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. This is how a free market works.

I’m all about the free market but I think the issue is that CTD isn’t a manufacturer, they are the middle man. If they were just unloading existing stock at inflated prices, most people wouldn’t care but they are taking new stock that’s coming from manufactures, which is extremely limited, then jacking the prices up to unethical amounts. This is stock that would have gone elsewhere like academy or a LGS that would likely charge a more reasonable fee. At the end of the day, no one is forced to buy it but it leads to even more artificial inflation of the prices. For a housing analogy, it’s like if someone had the ability to buy a large amount of houses straight from a developer in an area with a housing shortage, then tack on 300k per house. Yeah, it’s free market but at some point it’s just purely unethical.

Yeah, it’s free market but at some point it’s just purely unethical. Yet...people are still buying it. If folks didn't buy it, they'd be forced to lower their prices or go out of business. I won't shop there because they've always been high on prices. But, probably the reason that they seem to have stock that others don't is because of their high prices. Some get desperate and break down and buy from them anyway.
