Guys, we are looking at this all different. I’m not talking long range bench shooting. My son shoots a 243. The longest shot at peak conditions is 250 yards. There is no reason to have a mil spec reticle and kick ass turrets. If he can’t hit it with a duplex reticle, what good are the gimmicks? Now if we were shooting 800yards, Yeah. For a deer hunting rifle in Alabama, a plain Jane scope will do just fine.

Yeah I think we are looking at two different goals. I’m needing to hit a 12 year old to solidly and consistently hit a 150 pound animal at 100 yards or so. Not shoot a dime at 500 yards. If that was the case, CDS, turrets, and reticles are all game changers.
