Almost all the warm season turfgrasses need 4-5 hours, minimum, of DIRECT sunlight to maintain acceptable quality. Also, St Augustine doesn’t take too well to freezes, and can have winter decline over the years. Zoysia would be a better bet, but you’ll have to take into account how much sunlight it’ll get.
