Cover stays on mine until I get ready to setup or am moving in position to setup. I don’t turn mine on until I get ready to shoot or I know that the gobbler is close. I treat the red dot like my safety. Minus the cover I do the same. I guess I never thought about scratching the lens. Maybe I should try and find my cover.
