I had mounted a Burris RT6 1-6x on my Marlin 1894. Decided I wanted that scope on an AR and thought about using the Burris AR536 prism sight on the .44 Marlin.

The AR536 is too high for the Marlin stock. To get a clear view through the sight my cheek is completely off the stock. Imagine recoil would be bothersome with that arrangement.

Not interested in a add on cheek pad or comb. Anyone have a favorite combo for similar setups ?

I put a Burris full field 2-7x35 on one and a leupold Fx-ii 6x36. I loved the fixed 6 scope.

Bushnell Banner fixed 4x32 is excellent for low visibility and I have one mounted on a 94 trapper 30-30 and it is my favorite 100 yard setup.

Seeing as how it's a .44 , something like a VX-II 1-4 is plenty or a fixed 4X.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

I have a Leupold 2-7x33 vx freedom on mine. I think it's about right for a .44. Good field of view at 2x and the ability to zoom in for a closer look at 7x.

Had one ( a scope) on my 1894 Winchester in .44 mag and just didn't feel right so I went back to iron sites, feels better now...My uncle told me What the hell are you going ! . John Wayne never had a scope on his Winchester.

That would be a good glass for it.
