I've always said, on a quiet night you could hear a Ford rust!  Seriously though, I'm with Irish on this, looks more like a coating problem to me. All steel will rust if left untreated/uncoated

Funny story and slightly off topic. I worked for Konecranes for 15 years. Towards the end of my tenure I was in a consulting role and worked with our corporate account team (which I was previously a part of). We were doing a big consulting job at the Request of Ford Motor Co. we would go in these plants and perform a GAP ANALYSIS based on OSHA/ANSI requirements in regards to cranes and hoist. 95% of the time the floor employees were pretty welcoming. Ford Motor in Buffalo as the exception. More than once I was surrounded by pissed off auto workers who tried to grab documents, clipboard, etc out of my hand. It was an interesting couple of days. On the flip side I not once had that issue at the Mexico plants lol.

It's not just 2021, they've been doing this for a few years. Yeah I I looked at one that was up on a concrete pad at the dealership in opelika, maybe a’16 model, brand new and the rearend was rusted

Ford is the #1 selling truck in America. Leave Ford alone. If I pay 80k it better take up the whole rode and haul twice as much as a 40k truck. Not have a piece of plastic on it and forget all the fancy electronic gadgets that will all tear up and render the rig immobile. Seriously, just by another one next year. MOVE ON!
