They recently drained the entire lake. Not sure about the restocking process.

From dunns bridge to the dam is the heavy recreational traffic area. Its bottle necked in this area which makes it seem like more traffic. Its get busy during summer. North of bridge is not as bad. They lowered the lake so residents could fix their bulkheads and piers.

I grew up on Gantt and still have a place there. Its a shallow lake(max depth ~25' averages about 8-10' in most places North of bridge. Dark water. Busy on holidays but not to bad rest of the time. Decent crappie and bream fishing. Bass is meh compared to other major Alabama lakes.

I've seen people fishing it since it filled back up, but I wouldn't think it's anywhere near back to any kind of decent fishing for any species yet. Is it?

I haven't fished at Gantt in several years but I'm sure it just depends on what your after. Most of the fish kill was shad and small fish. Larger fish held up in deeper holes or went to Point A.

Yeah, but I mean the ones that went to Point A ain't gonna make it back in there. I'm not sure how many deep holes there were left from what I saw every time I went by there. I'm sure there were some, but enough to support that many fish?
