Going to set up some Duke550s this weekend for coyotes. I’m worried about trapping deer with them.. is this an issue for anyone or do deer smell the bait/urine and not go to the trap?

You’re not going to catch a deer unless it’s a fawn and there shouldn’t be any of those I have caught 3 piglets this season
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

Deer tracks are always around my coyote sets. They're curious and their noses are stronger than a coyote's. If you catch a deer, your trap will be snapped with the chain pulled all the way tight. Their legs are tapered and they'll get right out. You may see some deer fur in the snapped trap where they pulled out. It won't bother them, that's what they get for being nosy.
