I’ve opened my truck door a few times and nothing was said but of course my hands were visible too
I would not take it very well being threatened to be shot and would go talk to his supervisor immediately

I did that, he said I was to pull over immediately no matter what. My pet peeve is idiots taken care of tickets and crap when they could have driven a little further and got out of the way. Is it a law??? I ain't showing my cc permit, it's non of his dam business imo.

Could have suggested to him that you would have pulled over immediately in a location that was not safe in your opinion for him or you or he could follow you to a safer place for the both of you. If he has a problem with that tell him you will stop in the middle of the damn road the next time because he does have safety in mind for anybody.

I did the exact same thing coldtrail did about 7 years ago..state trooper followed me. When he walked up he thanked me for being so thoughtful about his safety and mine...he still wrote me a ticket..but he was real nice about it

I’ve noticed through the years that people’s perception of their interaction with the police is often very different than what actually happened, actually been guilty of it myself. Hate you had a bad experience.

Maybe, but not in this situation. I have a witness.

And she was also told she could be shot

Just proves that some people shouldn’t be in positions of authority. Some people just can handle a little thing called common sense. No way I would be treated by a LEO like that and I are one. I’d be talking to somebody at his office.

Is it possible that you and your witness perceived the "you could be shot" as a threat and not as a learning lesson he was trying to convey? In the heat of the moment maybe there was some bad judgment all the way around.

Slowing down and continuing to the first safe place to pull over is a perfectly legit thing to do when being stopped by the police. Any cop that doesn't know that is a dumbass. But unfortunately dumbasses have infiltrated all proffesions.
