Stopped in there for the first time today and tried the sliced brisket sandwich I’ve heard so much about. I’ll be honest, it was good, but no where near what I expected. I’ll probably eat it again in the future if I’m in Leeds but I’d be very disappointed if I had driven any distance.

What...an Aldeer 5* seal of approval opinion is bs?

Yeah...I think their brisket and bbq sandwiches are greatly overrated here, too.

They're ok...that's about it.

I think it’s all about perspective. You just ate brisket from a mega chain gas station and said it was good. As good as the BBQ joint down the road that you love? Probably not....is it better than anything any other chain gas station would make...absolutely.

I agree 100%. I’m just saying, I have heard of folks, that were already familiar with the food quality, driving from as far as Tuscaloosa just to get one of these sandwiches. I would have been very disappointed with myself if I had done something like that. Come to think of it though, I can’t think of ANY place I’d drive that far just to eat.

I don't think anyone drove from Tuscaloosa just for the sandwich, they drove there for the whole experience of the store and everything in it.

I live in Odenville and visited Buc-ee's the day it opened. I do not understand how these people around here are acting about this place and the bbq. I wished they would get excited about a few of the BBQ restaurants around here and spend some of their money there to support a small business. The brisket sandwich was OK at best, and was worse than our worst BBQ restaurant around here. I was more impressed by their firepits, smokers and their general efficiency more than anything.

That may be, but if you ask literally ANYONE what's so great about Bucee's, they will mention the brisket within the first 10 seconds, 103% of the time.

For those of us that work in Leeds, it is a great place to get lunch when you consider all the other options.

The correct answer to your question is "their gas is cheaper than everyone else's, they have clean bathrooms, and they sell fountain 'coke' with real sugar".

Some of their bakery goods are pretty tasty, as well.

But yeah....if a bbq joint opened and sold their brisket/bbq sandwiches, they probably wouldn't be in business very long.

It's what I call "to go" food. It will never be as good as a sit down restaurant. Gas, bathroom, "to go" food, and back on the road.

Some people just prefer to be miserable and disappointed all the time anyways, so yeah, I'm sure. I personally think it's an awesome place and will drive over occasionally from Pensacola to the one on I-10 and will stop in if I'm driving by and it doesn't look like crazy traffic - especially if I need diesel and DEF.

I'm with F150 on this. Went there Saturday for the first time.

Over crowded

Average brisket sammich.

Just a big tourist trap IMHO.

I’m mostly there for good prices on gas & diesel, along with non-ethanol fuel. A clean restroom is my only reason to go inside.

Word on the street is that the one in Loxley started serving bacon egg and cheese biscuits that are pretty dope.

What does this gas station have that makes it so appealing. Does it actually have any quality items or just a bunch of cheap junk. I just can’t imagine it being anything but a big gas station. I mean unless they have hunting/fishing supplies or tools or something what could they possibly have. Like I said never even seen one so maybe I missing it.

I drove right past the one near the beach a few weeks back, didn’t bother to stop. Will do the same next week.
