On mine, the lower unit of my O/B blocks a lot of the left screen. You can split it and run two transducers, one on each side. We did on the fire boat. It's amazing the the difference it made.

Looks like a bad transducer to me. I had a buddy that had the same issue. He was told not to turn the unit on with the mega ducer connected while it was out of the water. Supposedly burned it up. They sent him a new one.

Mine did that after a upgrade. Turned out to be a transducer.

Update, I called a Humminbird tech & described the problem. He was very nice & helpful. That alone will keep me as a customer. Although the warranty is out of date, he is sending me a new SI transducer & told me if that doesn’t fix the problem to give him a call back. I will update here as soon as I have the new transducer installed & have a chance to try it.
