I think I would’ve just come back after that thing had chewed it’s foot off.

I did that exact same method on one of my neighbors big white dogs, except I kept the choke stick tight til it's eyes rolled back in it's head. It got up about 5 minutes later.

I had my daughter with me one day running a coyote line and caught a pit bull. When I touched the trap he started growling. I release the trap and she had to lift his foot out while I held a Glock to his ear. We eased off and she told me I shouldn’t have told that dog I’d blow his brains out.😬

I think he’d done that before too. Went too smooth.
Usually at my house, it’s the cougar that releases me.

Its not really taking the cats foot out of the trap that required balls........it's turning the damn thing loose once its freed up that's the booger. Hell, I've felt like a little girl turning a fox loose.....I'd be in my truck with that pole hung out the window before I'd let a damn cougar loose. It'd be my luck he'd attack and maul me within a half second of that noose coming off of his neck.....Would you not be pissed at the guy that just tried to choke you to death? Hell to the naw.......
