.....of ya'll still carring the bow? I would have been. I was planning on breaking the 270 out the week after Christmas to hunt the cutovers and gasline on our lease during the rut.

I am. Took the .45 Colt and the bow today. Smoked a 'yote with the .45 about 3:30 this evening.

Using the rifle for a couple days til I get the wife used to hunting so I can leave her. Then back to the hoyt for the next several weeks. I think this is my year for a good buck and I want it with my bow

I'm still hunting with my Mathews Mission Buckmaster, Shaw. Looks like this trend of bow hunting will continue with me. I see from 2 to 6 does every time I stalk hunt, but so far I haven't had one close enough for a good shot...yet. (several have been 50 yards but I didn't want to take the chance of wounding them) I passed on 2 other shots because they were yearlings with their mother.
Hope you are feeling better ! Spinal injuries and pain is no fun...I know. We were really worried about you and I'm so glad to see you are doing better. Good Luck and stay safe !

First year for me to continue me with the bow. Probably won't pick up the gun until January. Most of my locations have shots less than 50 yards anyway.
If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.

I took a rifle hunting on saturday afternoon because of the rain, but brought the hoyt with me on sunday.

depends on where i hunt. cutovers=gun.....greenfeilds,hardwoods,pines=bow

I'm addicted to being "up close and intimate" with deer. Right now, I don't plan on carrying my gun unless it's REALLY cold or I'm hunting open terrain.
I usually hunt with my bow even in Jan! I LOVE bow hunting!
