Blind permittee, the person to whom the TWRA issued the permit, must occupy his/her blind by the legal daily opening shooting time on days he/she wishes to hunt, and if the blind is unoccupied at that time by the permittee, the first person or party occupying the blind shall be entitled to the privilege of its exclusive and uninterrupted use until the end of shooting hours that day. Exclusive and uninterrupted use entitles the person or party the right to exclude all others from the blind at the person’s or party’s option,

So if you are not in your blind, or leave the blind, someone else can hunt it. These are nice blinds with ovens, couches, heaters, etc.

Used to only apply on the 1st hunt of the season. On opening morning, if you didn't build the blind you let it be. After opening morning, it was 1st come gets it and it used to never be a problem. The "Duck Dynasty" era, basically tossed all of the unwritten rules of duck hunting and said piss on everyone. It's been a complete and total schit show ever since.

On a side note, courtesy is just completely gone now when it comes to hunting/fishing or any kind of public outdoor activity. There is no respect left

You’re describing life in general. The lack of respect thruout society is the issue.

Heck some have encouraged their kids behavior by laughing and giving in to the whims of their kids.

How many cut others off in traffic. How many speed up so as to keep one from passing etc..... azzholes are everywhere these days.

Been in a couple of situations with a duck hunting friend a few years back the worst one involved some local law enforcement folks . Two islands fairly close in the back of Mud Creek . We got there early , put our decoys out , hung a light to let everyone know we were there . About 15 minutes before shooting time a boat approaches headed for the other island . My hunting partner has a pretty good temper and doesn’t care to get loud . Guys pull in directly across from us and start setting up . My bud yells at them we were here first , their reply : we always hunt here and we are sheriff’s deputies. Of course his reply was I don’t care who you are you are a bunch of horses butts . Eventually we move to the other side of the island . No shots fired, at each other or at a duck .

Most blinds have a way for non-owners to access the shooting platform without getting to the inside, which is locked.

Some are big, for sure, with some having couches, recliners and working propane stoves with ovens for cooking breakfast. Others with no fancy seating areas have, at least, nice benches and such.

Not all of them are like that but alot of blinds there, in Mississippi, Arky and Loozyana have these kind of setups.

Last I heard his truck and boat trailer were still at launch and LEO search was centered on lake.

I'm presuming the guy suck started his 45 and is on a cypress knob somewhere.

The lake's big, but not that big. If he did that they should be able to locate his boat unless he pulled the plug and sank it, which is entirely possible.
