We keep hearing this nonsense about relying on opec. We could produce and refine our own oil if we kept our oil here, and opened up more areas. That would keep our military here too. It’s only because the saudis use the US dollar to sell and value their oil. It’s why they paid the USA the cost of the desert storm war, when Iraq invaded Kuwait. Like Kuwait is worth even 1 American life. But the next place was gonna be Saudi Arabia for Saddam. And that couldn’t be allowed to happen. If the true cost of oil from the Middle East was paid by the oil companies, instead of the US military providing safety and security in countries and on the high seas, we wouldn’t afford it over oil from elsewhere. But there is way to much money thrown in the military industrial complex. Our government is only used to control us.


Why would we want to use up all of our oil when we can use up other countries' oil? Save ours for when we need it.



When are we going to run out? It seems technology marches on. Whale oil used to be a thing. It seems batteries are the next big leap. We’ve heard of peak oil for almost 5O years. I’d rather use ours than prop up these tin pot dictators in Africa and the Middle East. We should of took their oil after WW2. I’d be more worried about those other countries running out of oil. The countries that don’t even know how to build a hammer yet. Their populations are almost 100% dependent on oil revenues. Let China worry about that stuff. Then we can focus on our own country again.


Great in theory but their oil is cheaper. We can be 100% oil independent but fuel prices will be 50% higher.
