I had antibodies for a little over 5 months after I had the Wuhan flu. I imagine that Mdees is correct as far as post-vaccination protection is concerned. This will be a continuous cycle of guesswork as the virus mutates, just like with other influenza virus vaccinations. Anyone who claims they are going to eliminate COVID is full of chit. I have seen some "data" regarding the effectiveness of wearing a mask. Not sure I buy it unless everyone is going to be forced to were an N-95. getting old, how did you know after 5 months you didn't have the anti-bodies any more if you don't mind me asking? I do not, personally. I’ve seen reports from the UK where the efficacy has been studied which found those who developed antibodies tended to begin losing them after the 4-5 month mark and some appeared to be antibody-free by 6-7 months perhaps. This make sense to myself as a lay person. Covid-19 is a corona virus. The common cold is a corona virus and really Covid is just a new version of the common cold(a RNA-changing virus which are notoriously difficult to create a “cure” for. Think AIDS!). I reckon I catch a cold about twice a year, some worse than others. I may carry antibodies for the last cold I had and fought off for about the same time period but eventually I’ll catch a cold again.
