The 2 bucks in the below pic ran together last season. I had numerous pictures of them together on the same trail. I killed the one on the right on October 17th 2019 with my Bow. The one on the left was 10 steps behind him. I never got another pic of the one on the left until this season. He showed up in August. I killed him on the same trail about 30 yrds from the 1st one one Jan 4th 2021. I have several deer on cam that I have watched grow over the past few years. I have new ones show up, especially around the rut but the core group is very consistent. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/z72bqHw/20210116-144926.jpg)

I'm sure there are outliers as folks mentioned earlier. However, it's been my experience that most mature bucks will stay in their area except for possible forays during the rut - when they might be a distance away from their home range. Watch Dan Infalt's material on buck bedding and you'll learn that there are some bedding areas on/near your property that will hold mature bucks year after year. If you don't have that bedding on your place, you probably wouldn't think that bucks stay in a core area... but if you have suitable bedding for a mature buck to feel secure, the rule of thumb probably applies.

Squadren77, that ole boy looked like he loved to scrap, or he might have just loved to do that other thing and it kept getting him in fights

We've had pics of one buck consistently for 6 years, 1 buck that has only had his pic taken one time, and everything in between.
