Had a doe and a little one meander in and out of the field. That’s it so far. Does ought to really star firing off hot over the next week.......Had two new young bucks show up here yesterday That’s what I hope. I’m here till Friday. It needs to start picking up. I was expecting things to be further along by now.

Last year was the week of MLK. The year before was the weekend of. My buddy about 3 miles up the road said his typically gets wide open starting the Saturday before MLK almost to the end of the week. I’m here till Friday. We will see how it goes. I agree, it seems to come in hard and fast and then just ends. The following 2 weeks after my place has been a ghost town. It has not been productive for me.

Good Luck! It should be heating up in South Bama for the rut.

Had to come down. Man it seems slow here. I hope it’s calm before the storm. I usually see more bucks (most small) on camera at night. Last night I had more does than I’ve seen in weeks and one shooter
Don't blame me for your bad decision-

Wind shifted to out of the NW picked up at 10am and started gusting. I have seen 2 Come through, been slow at best. Pretty sure our deer are done or on the very back end of the rut here.

Not much to it. Sittin a ladder watching an old logging road. Was standing watching a wash behind me n decided to sit back down. Looked up a lane we cut to my left and he was standing there looking at me with the sun directly behind him. Looked like the hartford deer! Put his head down n started walking, allowed me to get rifle up n on him. Easy 60yd shot. Drt. Hate it for you creedmor haters...but it smoked him.

Looking at the pic it looks like you wiffed completely on the shot otherwise there would be a softball sized hole in him. He looks pristine. You must have missed bad and the CREED "cone of death" saved you and was still enough to put him down. LOL Congrats on a great buck gman. That's a good'un. If you dont mind me asking, what county?
