I decided to hold off and plan to set traps on Wednesday. Should be able to keep out 3-4 days. I was planning on using the polyfill. I have some aluminum screen I will experiment with. My only concern was having it raise up too much over the pan? Is that an issue you have. Do you cut a notch where the dog is?

Not likely to happen where I am planning on trapping but...if I were to trap someone's dog, how do you release safely without getting bitten or hurting the dog?
I use nylon screen so I don't have to deal with the aluminum screen bending up. Yes, cut a notch in the screen where it rests atop the dog.
