I had a guy I actually liked - good guy I met back in Arkansas when I lived there He had a room full of monster bucks - he Took me hunting on his land - after the hunt - he tried to get me to go with him and he shined a monster and tried to get me to shoot it - beautiful deer - deer never got shot. When we got back I thought I would check him - I said - u shot all those good bucks at night didn’t u - he said yea - I said heck - a 5 year old kid can do that crap - everybody knows the big ones gone be out at night - he was still impressed w himself
I use to love to shine way back when At night - but we did not shoot. I don’t get how somebody does that - where is the accomplishment- shootin fish in a barrel
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

I dont understand someone killing trophy deer illegally. I mean whats the point? The root cause is psychology....more specifically self-worth I would think just pure greed and lack of deferred gratification. See it, want it, take it. If it were just pure greed then a person could be ok with just keeping it to themselves……Poachers do it so that they can go show the deer to others and get a sense of pride from it….They are “the big buck killer”……It fills a void in their self-worth…….They have to go show it to the world to give it value.....It's really similar to getting "likes" on Facebook

Some folks do it and keep it to themselves too. I won't argue that but I'd say those folks are in the severe minority. Folks like the Timber kid is what is more common. It's other people's opinions of it isnwhat gives them the feeling of self worth

It's still legal in indiana but you better not have nothing in the vehicle but a pocket knife.we have shined some gooduns up there over the years. I remember it being legal here years ago and had to quit at 10:00. We got pulled over one night watching a buck at 1 minute after 10 by the man they were set up trying to catch night hunters. We use to have a lot of fun riding the roads spotlighting back then.

Trust me I know from experience how it usually goes in most areas.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Why do you think spotlighters were after these particular deer? If spotlighters were a known problem have tou contacted the law? They wetr quick to help us when we thought we had some night hunting issues The warden was contacted he said the same thing as the last 2 said in prior years,” by God I’ll not sleep till I get them I don’t play” he is new and hope he does what he says. Location is on some back roads in rural part of the community, nice genetics low traffic. We know one fella involved and bout got him the other morning but little late. Hell I was sitting in a ladder stand one morning last year in the middle of a clear cut, thicket to my left/rear 100+ clear acres ahead. Warden drives off the road around the thicket, backs up and parks in between the thicket and me. Never gets out of the truck. He sat in his truck till 11:30 and never got out. He couldn’t see The road, and clearly could see me in his rear view. I was so mad I couldn’t walk over and ask him what was going on bc I knew I’d be in the wrong some how. So I don’t have much faith unless they want to check licensing and permits. Been that way for years here.
