I have been fishing every weekend for the past two and half months. The first 7 weekends, I could not buy a striper, if it jumped in my boat. The past three weekends, we have averaged close to 25, catching between 10 and 15 each day, fishing from daybreak until noon. Getting the Spot Lock trolling motor and switchng over to live bait was definitely a game changer. Ms Muzzie bought me two downriggers with 8lb weights for Christmas but I haven't gotten them installed yet, so I am eager to try a different technique. I just wanted to thank all of you who shared advice, various locations to try and offered encouragement at a time I was starting to doubt myself. Here are a couple of pics and a short video of two my children who came up last weekend to go fishing with Mom and Dad. Making great memories and thanks again for everything.

The promising thing too is that on Martin the colder the weather the better the bite. Congrats on successful trips!

I guided on Smith Lake 200 days a year for 12 years. Wish I had a dollar for every time I thought the same thing. Their a finicky fish. Enjoy partner.

Just a foot note. I hated live bait fishing and loved down rigging. You will to. Best tip get you some roemer releases.

If you don't mind sharing, can you help me figure out where you got live bait for Lake Martin? I am heading up there this weekend with my Father in-law but cant find live bait anywhere.. any help would be greatly appreciated.
