Going to shoot all three next week, but wanted to get any comments on all these brands before I decide. Not going to use it for CCW, just for home defense and to carry on trips to the hunting camp.
Anyone have a 9mm for sale please let me know also.

do some research on the new XD that has a supposedly longer barrel and portions of the slide cut out to reduced kick and muzzle rise.

I like the xd but there is no wrong choice among the ones you mentioned.

shoot all three. pick the one that you shoot best, fits you best, and you like the most. you can't go wrong with any of the three if you pick the one YOU like most, regardless of what you read on the internet.

All three are great choices, but make sure you take a look at the Ruger SR9. Not as popular as XD or Glock but it is a really nice pistol.

glock 34...you'll like the longer barrel, increased accuracy and the way a tac light fits on the rail.
but as bill said, no wrong choice here

Look at the FN FNP 9mm and the Sig P226 too. As a matter of fact Walter Craig in the links above has the sig on sale.

Another very good 9mm to consider for that use would be a SigPro SP2022 or SP2340. Great guns and very reasonably priced on the used market.

It don't matter, a 9mm sucks in any flavor.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

For the money, a Ruger is hard to beat. I have one and it has served me well. They are well made and used ones are hard to find.

A beretta 92 fs fits great in the hand too.
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

A sig 226 is the most well rounded weapon IMO and with an SRT sear it doesn't get much better I promise. They are proud of the name. But with reason. I like an aluminum frame and steel slide. And the accuracy is unbeatable. My buddy at work has a 226 black water edition. He has 4k rounds through it and never cleaned it once. He has re applied lube but never cleaned And has never failed to fire
