Leupold Var-X II, 3 X 9 X 50. I have four of these on different guns and have never needed anything else. Never a minutes trouble with any of them. They gather light to the point of hunting illegal. I have several other scopes, but these are what I like the best. X2

5 pin sword sight. Doesn't really transmit light too well but I'm only shooting 30 or so yards.

Hunted with a Tasco World class for several years. It killed them just as dead as the Nikon Monarch I use now. Same here, , , when I could see them well enough to shoot. Problem was, I had to let a lot of good bucks walk. Early this season I could see a buck fine with my naked eye, but not as good through the Tasco. I asked for recommendations on here and ended up with a Zeiss Conquest 3 x 9 40. I can't believe the difference. I compared it to my dad's Bushnell FF 2 walking out late one afternoon. Hands down, the Zeiss was more clear and collected more light. But to be fair, I think it costs about $200 more.

Zeiss Conquest is a fine scope, and the 3-9x40 is a great size. I have two of them.
Cheap glass will work. More expensive glass works better. Depends on your budget, where/how you hunt and what you want to spend.

Zeiss Conquest Leupold VX III Nikon Monarch Pentax Lightseeker
In that money range a Zeiss Conquest is hard to beat.

Leupold and Zeiss on my rifles. The problem with cheap scopes is that they work fine untill they don't.I would much rather shoot a $200 rifle with a $600 scope than the other way around.
Years ago you could get Tasco World Class that were decent scopes, but they were Japanese made, right along with some better scopes. Now days, with a more global market, there is a lot more junk produced by whoever gives the cheapest quote.
