I’ve worked 12 hour shifts for 12 years and they were ok when you got time off,would have 800-1000 hours a year of OT some years,I work straight 8 hour days now 6-2:30 but we never know if we will get off at 2:30 because I’m in maintenance and we work over a lot of days,they’re talking about going to 4-10’s at the beginning of the year but I don’t want to work them because I have kids that cheer and play sports so that would keep me from making a lot of their games,second is it would cut out a lot of OT for me,we get OT on anything over 8 hours right now so that would move to anything over 10 hours would be OT,third is working the longer shifts this time of year sucks because it’s dark when you go into work and dark when you leave so there’s no time to do anything in the evenings,I like working 8 hour shifts myself even though most days I work more than 8
