It's coming off the spools today and getting replaced by 4 lb. I likely wouldn't have broken off if I had the drag loosened enough. One good thing about that 2#, I can shoot a 1/32nd ounce jig about 30 yards. I want to know how big the shoulders are on those crappie that broke me off. I broke one off on the hook set trip before on 4# line. Same dock.

Didn’t fish t-day but went this afternoon on Jordan. Caught a dozen good channel cats on jugs I threw out while bass fishing. Caught 6 decent spots and 2 bigmouths in a creek channel. Pretty good afternoon.

Took my 80 year old Dad and 75 year old FIL today. Caught white trout til we were tired of catching them with a few decent specks mixed in and everyone had a blast.

Heard/saw very few boats on the River above Howton's on either Thursday or Friday. Kind of surprised, given the pretty weather.

2# wil break if ya look at it wrong.

Years ago I tried to fish 2# to break a couple flared channel and blue catfish world records. The 2# tippet would break with no drag if the fish ran in a curve, with no drag. The weight of the fly line pulling sideways would break the 2# tippet. I finally used a short 15 foot fly line(shooting head) and landed some good fish. I got the idea from some salt water fly fishermen that were targeting tuna/marlin on 16# tippets that were having the same problems. I think I still hold those records with IGFA.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

That's cool Troy. I went back yesterday armed with 4# test. I started fishing around 6:30 and had 8 in the boat at 7:15. The wind shifted at 7;15 and that was all she wrote. I didn't get another bite. I still broke one fish off on the hook set. There is no way I got tangled up in anything. I'm not actually fishing the dock, I'm fishing right beside the dock. I'm fishing a weed edge on a drop off. I've broken off 5 times there in 3 days. Broken off on crappie bites too, not a random LM or catfish bite. That's more than I've broken off in a year. I can't wait til I see one of those big suckers. I'm not giving it a 10# bass super slam hook set, just a quick wrist twitch to get a hook in em before they spit the jig out. I've got the drag loose enough that it'll slip on the hook set if I get too ninja whoopin with it.
