I've had two bow holders break on me so far this year. Both have broken off into the tree while trying to remove them. I use my climber (Goliath) a lot so I need one that can be easily moved. I've seen the ones that strap to a tree on TV shows, but my search has left me with little results. I usually climb the same tree for several days in a row and then move to another location on the property, so it stays in the tree for a few days.

Anyone have any experience with a good one that straps to the tree? I don't want something that clamps onto my climber either.

I use a screw in tree step. Works for me.

i will be making my own this weekend. I am tired of not finding what i want. I too want one i can attatch to my summit and remove if i want.

I started out this season using a HME Pro Series Better Bow Hanger. It has three screw in mounting screws that allows you to place them at three different locations and just carry the mounting bracket with you to the stand you decide to hunt. I have bought three more since my first so I have nine mounting screws and three brackets now. They work great and only cost $14.99 at Dicks Sporting Goods. They also have two hooks so you can hang stuff on them too. I highly suggest you try one.

Man I just use an EZ hanger bow hanger. I have left mine in hardwoods and pine for a week on end and unscrewed it with no problems. Costs 15 to 20 bucks and u can just throw it in your backpack when you leave an area. Or if you leave your stand just screw it in thr tree til you need it and it will back out like a champ

Yea like bamaman siad,i think the realtree EZ hanger is the way to go,i use the long one that folds out 3 times,you can screw it in the tree and fold it out to where your bow is hanging right next to you,you can grab your bow with minimum movement while your still sitting,plus they are very easy to remove from a tree,i havent had any problems with them at all.

Now don't go un-complicating things, like that.

The fashionable hunter carries a laser rangefinder with a built in lunar orbiter atmospheric re-entry trajectory calculator, arrows equipped with GPS locator beacons (evidently so you can find it stuck in the ground before you go blood-trailing your deer) and a tree stand that's only slightly less intimidating than a cyborg transformer that could morph itself into Klingon spaceship.

My open-face Summit has enough sidebar to just hang it from there. But the bow is usually in my hands anyway.

Believe it or not, a couple of years ago, there was a feller trying to market (on this website) an arrow nock insert with some sort of GPS homing device.
I can usually find my arrow, stuck in the ground or laying nearby, it's the dang deer that needs the homing device.

+1 I've never even heard of some of that stuff.

I'm sure the screw in step would work great, just like a screw in accessory holder would, but I would like to keep my movement to a min if possible. I really don't want to have to reach around to take my bow off the side of a tree if I don't have to. I would like to have the bow beside my climber at the height I desired.

By using a screw in step - would you not have to twist around to grab your bow and twist back around to get ready for a shot?

I've been thinking about making my own, a quick detach bow holder that I carry in my back pack and attach it to any tree stand.

I usually try to find a tight cluster of trees, mostly for the added cover, but that allows me to screw a step into one of the trees beside me. That way I can have the bow in front of me or right beside me. Or I'll climb up to the first big limb and screw the step into the limb.

Doesn't always work that way, though.

What I really need to build is the perfect portable tree.

After doing some more searching tonight - the HME Pro Series Super Bow Holder is what I had. A buddy of mine has the same thing and he informed me that his broke as well. So on the HME holder... which after seeing reviews seem to be a common problem.

I'm thinking about doing the same as others have mentioned and making one that would fit my needs, but the EZ hanger has a lot of good reviews too.

Why not just put one on your stand? I have an OL Man and put one on it. I always have one now where ever I go, I am pretty sure they make one for just about every climbing stand out these days.

I'm with high climber. i use the ol man and it's great. My buddy uses one on his square tube gorilla, and it works fine once you take out the plastic. It works great and the bow is always right at your side. I've used one for years with no issues. bow holder

My lap has always done the trick for me. (and usually her too....)

Because I have about 19 stands.
