Leupold Var-X II, 3 X 9 X 50. I have four of these on different guns and have never needed anything else. Never a minutes trouble with any of them. They gather light to the point of hunting illegal. I have several other scopes, but these are what I like the best.

I have a 3.5-10x50 Vari-X III matte finish with heavy duplex reticle. It is almost like new in the box.

pozzum. Nikon makes some of the best glass you can get for the money.
Redfield is basically leupold at a reduced price. if you aren't making a shot over 300 yards then stay with a 3-9 mag. get the largest objective you can afford to allow for low-light. I had a Nikon prostaff 3-9x50 bdc and it was perfect for my BAR. you will probably find one for pretty cheap

$375 I'm not a leupold fan but that is a great price on that scope. Is that the older vari x or the newer vx?

Leupold VIII only. I think they are the best for the bucks. Some will give you later light for double or triple the price. Not worth it to me.
