Yea, I agree. And I think they are still down a few stud pieces.

They will breeze to the title IMO.

Thompson plays Trussville next week. IMO these are the two best teams in 7A. Lots of D1 caliber players on both teams,. Thompson won the earlier meeting this year but Trussville was missing a couple key players. They are back for this game, should be a good one. The winner will likely play Hoover for a trip to the championship game.

Pleasant Grove will win the north in 5a.

I guess we'll find out Friday night, or at least the next step in the process. I'll be there watching. Guntersville is really good, but they haven't been tested or faced being down in any game this year. Guntersville beat Hayden 62-3.

Something tells me we are going to see Central v. Thompson in the finals for the 3rd year in a row.

I too like your train of thought but I watched Thompson dismantle Hewitt/Trussville this past Friday night. Central's defense and especially their pass defense is below standard this year and the Thompson QB is for real along with the entire team.

Oh, I don't think anyone is going to beat Thompson this year.

Did they go get the 8th grade team and put on the field that grissom beat 7-0 in the second half the first round? smile

Auburn takes Central of Phenix City to the wood shed, and beats them 35-17. Now plays Thompson for the 7A State Playoffs on December 2, i believe. .

If you get a chance watch Mars Hill from Lauderdale County play. I cant see any 2A school touching them, may be wrong though. Team is all white and are a Christian School. Players are very courteous and respectful to everyone. Hard to find a team of good kids like this one has.

I can't stand a thief.

Different now than it was 30years ago when you could not recruit, very few public schools in 1or2a can compete with Mars Hill because they recruit.

Its the same in 7a also. Thompson has quite a few home grown players, but rest assured recruiting is happening at all the top programs.

But, almost all their stars come from somewhere else.
