Tommy Yarbrough, the man that started it, was my great uncle by marriage. Grandmother's sister married him. His basement was FULL of reptiles. Had a massive python mounted on a tree going in the carport door. I always loved that mount. He always brought rattle snake for family gatherings. fried and bbq mostly. His wife took over after he passed away. I believe she passed several years ago. Sort of lost touch as the older family started passing away. I'm not sure if their daughter is doing the shows now or not. I loved it when they came to my school. I got to show off a little by knowing him. He was kid at heart and loved what he did.

The name Yarborough rings a bell. Had a deep baritone voice and Elvis sideburns. He was the first one that I ever heard say “red touches yellow will kill a fellow and red touching black is OK Jack.” As a little kid I thought that was so cool.
Dr. B That’s the same man I remember doc

Red on yeller, kill a feller Red on black, venom-lack
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

I remember the shows well. Yarbrough was the guy that came to my school every year. $.50 was well worth the admission. One year I had forgotten to bring money for the show and I just happened to be in the gym when he started bringing them in. I got to help and he made sure those of us that did didn't have to pay to watch the show. Good old guy for sure.
