U.S. Navy for 28 years 4 months 15 days. 2200 jet hours, 300 carrier landings, 17 Countries, 8 Aircraft Carriers. Still Married to the same woman the whole time for now 30 years.
1 screwed up kid because I was never home. He stayed that extra 8 years so Obama wouldn't sign his retirement certificate! 😂
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

I've thought of this often. I think that maybe less than 10% of people I knew back in high school are actually doing, today, what they planned. Yep. My plan was to live through my childhood. I obviously made it even though it was dicey at times. Thankfully, the military was there for me when I needed structure, financial stability and leadership. I have had no other plan since then with the exception of delivering pizzas for 16 months to buy my first piece of equipment. I was determined to earn the money for it aside from the 40 hour a week job to make certain it was something I wanted to do. Every single other thing in my life has been me falling backward into something better than the last thing for the most part. The only thing I have left is law school or medical school. Still undecided. Mrs. Geno has 6 months left on her doctorate so I will need to start thinking about it soon. Soon for me is a year or two - lol.

The Lord put me in the right place doing the right thing. I helped people every day and never got shot or had to shoot anybody. Made some young people better officers so I have no regrets about my career.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I would enlist in the US Coast Guard all over again.
Now I would change some of the stupid $hit i did in my life, but not my career choice.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I worked my through college as a carpenter, moved and setup modulars, built a ton of decks, remodeled kitchens and baths and worked way to much. I graduated Auburn with zero college debt a BS of engineering and a double minor in business and mathematics. Went to work for An employee owned defense contractor in Huntsville and ran their Auburn division. I was blessed to go to work reporting to a National Academy Scientist who was selfless and sewed 50 years worth of research knowledge into me before he retired. Unfortunately I left the Defense contractor in 2014 when things were bad in the DOD which as cost me a fortune since but at the time I needed to move home for my family. I went to work for another DOD start up and wasted 5 years there on hopes and promises. I joined a new start up in January of 2020 and so far it has been awesome wish I would have accepted two years ago when they started recruiting me. Overall I considered getting. A nurse practitioner degree in 2014 because of my special needs daughter and wonder how that would have been.
Overall I am satisfied with my career I get to live in the small town I grew up in, work remotely 3 days a week and honestly get to do some of the coolest work I know of although it’s hard to share/talk about. While I missed the boom and being able to retire from my first job because I left it has been a very rewarding career both professionally and financially. If it goes to plan I will be retried by 55 and will work a couple of days a week and play on the farm the rest.

I was a mechanic for about 15years and have been running the show for the last 11 years. While I enjoy fixing things I find myself absolutely miserable at times dealing with the public. I wish I would have went into land and farm sales.

I love what I do. I couldn't think of anything else that I would rather do. I definitely would never not be a contractor. I could never work anywhere I had to answer to someone about my every move or be told when, where, what I had to do at any given time. I work when and if I want and for who and if I want. F living under someone else's thumb.

I am where I am supposed to be.... But, I would have chosen a different path... I would have joined the Navy that highly recruited me my highschool years and let them send me around to world. I could have retired from there long time ago if I would have went that route. Instead, God has blessed me with a fantastic wife, 4 kids and a granddaughter and a career that helped pay the bills, feed the family, keep us in clothes and let us have some fun along the way.
The LORD is Good.... All the Time....

Law Enforcement was what I wanted to do since I was a little kid. I was fortunate enough to have a thirty year career and retire with my health and sanity!

Loved every minute of it. I stayed active duty until the last day allowed by law, LOL. I left out 12 full household moves, 5 of them coast to coast. the wife put up with a lot. We managed our finances, bought and sold a few houses to match up with the ups and downs of the housing market, so we got stupid lucky with making money on houses. when I retired, she quit 15 years of wal mart, so now we sleep till about 8:30 every day and try and keep up with our 30 acres dodging Hurricanes and Tornadoes here in Bama. The regret is how I treated my kid. probably should have never had a kid, if the Military wants you to have a wife or kids, they would issue them to you.

i think about this all the time. I love my career, but people responsibility has its disadvantages .And like someone said earlier, the higher up you go the more the stress. I have been successful and enjoy business strategy. But there is no question about it if i could do over i would definitely go to trade school and get a trade or two... And would have been a fireman right out of high school. Own my own business with state retirement. no doubt about this. I should have risked this in my twenties anyway.
My son has listened to me.. Hopefully i will work for him on the side one day.

If I had it to do all over again I’d do what I’d do today. It’s what I was made for. And nothing else interest me at all.

I traded money for stability at a young age. I could have made a ton had I not went into the Fire service. Money was enough to get by on, but not to become well to do. Had to work 2 jobs for 25 years.
I can't say I regret it. It was stable after a lot of early instability. It provided. I missed a lot of family time. Now that I've retired, I find that I am making 3x-4x the money I was making and home a lot more. But it could all go away tomorrow. So I don't regret the decision I made, but I do wonder what if...

My only regret is that I was not able to get into my current position 10 years earlier. I would be retired by now. The only other thing I ever wanted to do was be a school teacher and coach football. That wasn’t going to happen so I joined the AF and have been in the military in some form ever sense.
