If we can throw our wife into this mix... mine was on track for pharmacy school and decided for education instead. I joke with her and tell her I would only be working part time if she had went the pharmacist route.  Mine had a scholarship to AU and wanted to be a vet. Got knocked up (1st marriage). And just now finishing her BS in marketing. Marketing is extremely interesting to me. Especially internet/ social media/ Optimization portion of it all. It's something I've self studied over the last couple of years and something that I could see myself really enjoying. It would be in my top 3 of alternatives if I had to change professions starting tomorrow.
