I now have a review of Hog Heaven BBQ, hwy 14. Wife got the Cheese Burger and fries, and I got the BBQ plate with 2 sides and we split. both were really good. Fresh made burger as big as a dinner plate, hot fries. BBQ was really good also, if you're a sauce person, it's tangy with a LOT of black pepper. different but still mighty good. fresh coleslaw was not sweet and beans (I didn't try the beans- too much food already)
officially recommended by a fat boy.

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

Our little club is near Billingsley so we’re regulars at Jim’s. BBQ is great and burgers are dang good too! Sides are large enough to share so we normally get onion rings, tots, fries and share.
There’s a new one called Flying Peach BBQ on CR37 just above Billingsley that is dang good too. They’ve started to steal a little of our business from Jim’s, which is saying something.

I'm surprised none of the Clantonians have mentioned B&K on the Lay Dam road near Bell Lane. At least, I think that's the name of it. It's on the way home for me so I stop there pretty often. It's take out only, but I like their BBQ a lot better than the Hickory Chip that is just down the road and always has a parking lot full of folks.
It's closed up now, but Arnold's in Furman used to have great rib sandwiches on Saturday during deer season. He grilled them in the yard, so I doubt the health department inspected it, but he was the sheriff's brother so nobody messed with him.
All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

Is the Hickory Chip open still in Clanton?

Is there any good BBQ in Orange Beach/Gulf Shores? In that area, but I'm told that LA BBQ in Robertsdale or one of those places you pass through has good Q. The owner is originally from Greensboro and was a buddy of mine at AU.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Is the Hickory Chip open still in Clanton? Yes and most everything there is overcooked. My dad and my wife love to go there. But they both like everything overcooked.

officially recommended by a fat boy. Hog heaven is real good. Have eaten there many times. They use to(probly still do) cater to the riverdale mill. I've been in the mill when orders were placed & the hog heaven gals made the food deliveries. Never heard anyone say they didn't like it. As for another place, the hickory chip on 145- the last time I ate a bbq in that place, it was an insult to swine everywhere. Defenitely a no-go there.
