Covered many places to eat but have not seen a list of the best and worst places to eat BBQ in Alabama. If possible tell us what and why a place makes your list.

To me it's really hard to mess up BBQ, so I don't really have a worst. The best I've had was a place in boaz I think that was called Q's low and slow. I stopped there one time to eat and ended up buying 2 whole butts before I left. Unfortunate I think it's closed now.

Dreamland is HOT GARBAGE. The original Dreamland, 15+ yrs ago, was great. Once they started branching out, the quality went downhill. I haven't eaten at the original one in a long time, but the one in Northport is atrocious and they should be ashamed to even put the Dreamland name on it.
But then, any time you are served a plate of ribs that are swimming in a pool of bbq sauce, that should be an immediate red flag. BBQ sauce should be used to compliment good meat. If it's slathered on heavy or swimming in a pool of sauce, they're using it as a cover up for sub-par meat.

Ol boy near us opened up a little BBQ stand in his yard. Cooks on a block pit with hickory coals. Mighty good. Not as good as mine but saves time

The best is Jim's BBQ on 82 near Billingsley. The worst by far is Dreamland.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

Certainly not the best in all bbq catagories but I'm a fan of Moes BBQ wings. I’m addicted to Moe’s wings. Their pulled pork is pretty good too. Worst would be a tie between Big Bob Gibson and BobSykes. My all time favorite bar-b-que sammich is the “Open Face” chipped hot with extra sauce, fries, and a side salad @ Carlisle’s on 6th Ave S B’ham

I was in there two weeks ago. Total disgrace I'll agree. I ate at the original location last football season and it was decent.

Mud creek BBQ in Scottsboro is just plain nasty. It tastes like microwaved meat with liquid smoke on it

Worst in Alabama is Dreamland although incredibly there a place in Maryville Tn that’s worse. Hard to pick a best but I would go with 306. I know a place in Brooksville Fl. and Chesapeake Va. that will flat out bend your curve on what you think is good BBQ is.

The worst by far is Dreamland. You know, it makes me a little nervous when we start agreeing on things....

I think there are a bunch of good BBQ joints around. I am partial to R&R in Odenville.

Too many worst for me, I’ve tried several with traveling all over the state for work.
Some of my favorite are Fatmans in Montgomery, Jim’s in billingsley and a new one I tried last week in Leeds was Old Smokey
