A Swarovski 3.5x18x44mm is a more versatile scope IMHO. Lower power setting gives larger field of view for woods hunting and 18X is plenty of magnification for long shots to 500 yards and beyond. If you don't practice shooting and know your ballistics very well you have no business taking a shot at an animal at those ranges anyhow.

Illuminated reticles have never done much for me. At last light they wash out the target even on the lowest setting. If I can't see the reticle, it's too late to be shootin.
