Stray, I have a 6.5 x 12 with everything you mention above. I also had it built with expanded metal high sides and I will never have another trailer without them. I would consider double axle if I did it again. If not double axle, go with a 5,000 lb single axle at least. I would make sure you have a spot for a full size spare. Make sure your tailgate is easily removable. I would weld a chain to my tailgate pins to avoid losing them. Run your trailer wires in rigid conduit under the trailer to protect them. Put steel protection around your tail lights, not just sitting out in the open to knock off. Put bearing buddies on the wheels.
