there was no ADVERTISEMENT of the winds.. all this info was confirmed by NOAA and USAF recon planes.. when it made landfall there is a 99% chance that Cameron LA saw the 150mph winds. also no clue where the 200 mph winds you speak of came from. the highest gust so far has measured has been in the 180ish mph range and that was roughly 10,000 feet or higher, never once do i recall any weather ppl saying anything about them at surface level. it was also noted by the NHC also forecast the wind speeds to decrease dramatically when landfall was made so there is a great chance that when the eye got to Lake Charles then the winds had died down[/quote]
Knew I couldn't say all that without whiplash. Anyway, I know for certain the capabilities of the 130 Hurricane Hunters. I don't doubt what they report. I was referring to the reports of the WX channel. Yes the WX channel has advertised the hurricane at 150 mph. For several hours as a matter of fact. Once they "announced" land fall the winds where only 100 mph or so according to the weather channel folks. That is what I was pointing out..
