We’ve never had an issue with tuber growth by planting around 10/1. These are from a couple years ago. I actually planTed them around 9/23 because we Had tons of soil moisture.

Well duh certain years you can get away with it. But there’s a distinct difference in frost line when you cross this TN river up here.

2nd to 4th week of September. We usually still get some rain in September. If you wait until October it might be November before it gets any rain.

I mowed everything last weekend. I plan to spray it the last weekend of the month. Then 2 weeks after that I will disk it and I will wait until a decent chance of rain is coming and disk it again and plant\cultipack it right before that.

Usually the middle of October.

I am in west central alabama (Sumter).

Do not plant late August - early September. Yes, it will have rain most likely, but the weeds will outcompete what you plant.

This is basically what we will try and do, except we probably won't mow plots for a couple of weeks, then spray, disk, disk/till, plant. Thanks for reminding me how much work I've got to do!

I sprayed last Monday and will disk and plant middle of September.

We plant in early to mid October, depending on soil moisture. In Cusseta, just about twenty five miles from Auburn.

My FIL always says to plant by Labor Day, but that’s always struck me as way early

(as a preview of the 2020 apocalypse), last september i recorded .27 total rain in montgomery and 3.47 inches of rainfall in october w/ a few 100 degree days.. its hard to wait until oct to plant but listen to others, its the right decision. I've been praying for early cool fronts in september

I’ll poison the 3rd or 4th weekend in August.

I will burn then plant the last two weekends in sept or the first weekend in October depending on the weather.

Typically at the end of September, beginning of October. We hit it perfectly last year and had beautiful green plots in only two or three weeks, and they stayed green and full the entire year.

First few weeks of October for me, I try to look out for rain. I’ll spray around first of September and then when October comes around I’ll disk and plant within a few days.

I don't even care about bow season anymore. And I wait until midoctober to plant anything.
September is typically one of our hottest months, and always dry. I can recall several Septembers without a drop of rain.

I’ll broadcast my seed before a good rain in early October…….run over the vegetation a couple times to lay it down……and then walk away. For good, for bad, or otherwise…..I’m going to go fert free this year and see what happens…
