Anyone ever have any luck making mock scrapes? If so describe your setup.

Yes they work, I just buy and us the scrape dripper bag. Set a camera over it and start getting pics within a few days. Last year I had a small 6 point that took up residence at one of them. I hang it off of a low limb and rake the leaves back with a stick.

Is it too early? Should I use buck urine in the scrape?

I'm finding scrapes in the woods now, but I don't pay much attention to them, other than making note of the location.
I've made mock scrapes with my own urine and had dozens of deer, buck and doe, come by to freshen it up for weeks afterward.
I don't buy deer pee.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

Make a scrape "under an overhanging limb" and piss in it yourself! You'll be surprised at the deer activity on your scrape!
Which leads me to this point....it's perfectly ok to pee on your stand so don't pee in a bottle in a shooting house and leave the piss bottle in the shooting house for someone else to clean up!!!
Sorry...pet "pee've" of mine!

I take a limb & make the scrape & pizz in it. Most of the time the next day there'll be deer tracks in it. When I start seeing rut sign, I'll buy a bottle of Tink's 69. I pour it in a couple of film containers with cotton balls so I can use it the rest of the season but thats about the extent of it.

Two weeks ago I found a scrape under a tree that has been "scraped" for years. Set the camera up 15 yds away and got 8 pictures of bucks the first week (not a single doe). At the end of the 2nd week the scrape was covered with leaves so I used a stick to clear it, then I pissed in it. I'll check the camera again on the 31st and let you know what I got and how soon it was after I "wet" it.
Nice buck Perchjerker!
I bought an ATV to get to my hunting area, now half the fun of hunting is the ride in and out.
