I hunted the first four days of season and haven't been back. Deer sightings were very sporadic. Acorns were everywhere. Almost all the deer I saw were on acorns. A few deer even skirted the edge of food plots eating acorns on the edges, and never entered the fields. Deer weren't even seen on standing corn crops. Seems the acorns have most of their attention. I didn't have a problem seeing deer on most hunts but I saw far more mid-late morning activity that early mornings and evenings.
Locating "THE" tree is going to be difficult due to the volume of acorns on the ground, but if I could offer any advice I would skirt the edge of a bedding area and catch them slipping out to feed on acorns.
