This time of year is my favorite time for two reasons: hunting and football. And this time of year also brings a dilema for me because of hunting and football. Many of you probably are passionate about both, as I am. So what do you do when your team (Bama or Auburn or whoever) is playing a game on a perfectly nice Saturday afternoon, which is also a perfect time to be in a tree.
I've tried the 3 options I know:
1. Hunt and ignore the game. (And I spend all day worrying about what's happening to my team, sucking the joy out of the hunt).
2. Stay home and watch the game. (This also stinks because, as a working man, I only get so many opportunites to get in the woods and I feel guilty for not hunting).
3. Go hunting and take a walkman to listen to the game. (This may be the hardest of all because a herd of deer can walk by me and I would notice.).
Is there a better, 4th option, that some of you know? Help!

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

If it's against a real opponent, watch the game. If it's another scrimmage, go hunting.

I was asked by a friend the other day how I could just ignore the game. I told him that since Alabama had hired a coach that knows more about football than me, then I wasn't worried about it anymore.

I prefer to spend my time doing something that I have a little bit of control over. I like to watch the game, but I'm not going to miss time in the woods over it.

Me & the Mrs. have a standing date at home on college football Saturdays, we don't let much get in the way of it. I'll hunt till around 10am then come home & fire up the grill. Works for me.

"DVR" the greatest thing to be invented for this time of year. Then you can rewind a play to see again, pause it to go the bathroom or to get a cold beer and my favorite fast forward through the commercials.Money well spent!

"DVR" the greatest thing to be invented for this time of year. No doubt. I never pass up a chance to hunt just to watch a football game. Why would I when you can do both.

i generally hunt around football. lucky to have my primary hunting spots close to home.
but, if i am seeing any movement, the dvr will have to do.
of course, i don't like hunting the rain. so, it has not been a big problem this season so far.

Become an UGA fan this year and you will not miss a day of hunting. On second thought, Auburn may just about be in the same category pretty soon.
I carry my Iphone with me and get play by play of any games that are interesting.

went this morning till noon and was back in stand at 3:30. Got home a little after 8:00. Missed the entire Alabama game and part of the Auburn/LSU. I would rather have the opportunity to get a wall hanger!!!!

Luckily I do most of my hunting during the week.
Now work getting in the way of football is another story. I juggle it all to best enjoy as much of each as possible.
