How many plants you have for that size crop? I did a small row of them for the first time this year and really like them.

We picked Hayman’s parents beans Saturday and put up around 60 plus pints and 12 quarts. My wife said she’s good now.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

prolly a 50ft row with beans running up fence panels. A second picking will usually produce 1/2 of first picking. Prolly get another 10-15 quarts off those plants on 2nd and 3rd pickings.
two fifty foot rows (100ft) produced 42 quarts two years ago.

I tried something different this year. I blanched and froze whole green beans. I like them stir fried or baked better than cooked on top of the stove.

Best year so far was 5 rows x 50' long, we put up ~120 pint and and half jars in 21 days of production. Plants were done after that, got a ton of rain and they just turned yellow and died. Good year. This year we are one picking in on 3 rows and 16 jars canned. Picking every 3 days now. LOVE beans!

I have to ask what variety of beans are everyone planting? Am I wrong in thinking that some folks are only getting a couple pickings and their plants die or stop producing? We have rattlesnake pole beans and a few blue lake bush beans and they are both going strong after multiple pickings. Seems like the more they are picked the more they are producing.

I always thought as long as they got water and you picked them, theyd keep making beans. Usually ours play out when it gets dry. Weve been watering between rains. They just keep getting thicker
