I may have stated somewhere in this thread that the offending item was a mineral block, but in fact it was a protein block, as I stated in my very first post.
The block was visible from Lotts side of the fence, so I imagine that while he was driving or walking the fence, he saw the block and called the game warden. It would have been about 40 feet from the fence, so it was in plain view from his side.
Although I have no reason to believe that Lott was trespassing upon my property, I do know that he is very interested in what is going on over on my side of the fence. One day I was in the stand and watched him drive the whole fence line looking into my property. He wasn't checking the fence - he was looking way beyond the fence. He attention was focused so intently at my side that he drove right up to my stand and didn't even see me until he observed a wick I had placed on the fence post. It was during that meeting that he made mention of the fact that a citation had been written. Later, it was reported to me that he was up at the corner gas station loudly complaining about his 'asshole neighbor' and proclaiming his involvement in the citation and that 'he got what was coming to him' - referring to me.
Now, with respect to my neighbor, I don't have to wonder what kind of a guy he is - if he can be trusted, if he's a mouth, etc. He showed me exactly who I'm dealing with. I think 40 acres will provide me enough space that I won't have to interact with him again.
