I did pretty good in a couple of smaller rivers in early May. They shut down in late May. I’m told they are on the bed. How long does this usually take for them to finish spawning and get to biting again?

Drop a live bream on a steep clay bank and they'll still bite.

They should be wrapping up any day now.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

FWIW I caught a pregnant female chock full of eggs about a month ago. I would think they'd be getting close to done with the spawn now. I cleaned some channels a couple weeks ago that looked like they were done.

The blue I caught last weekend was bursting with eggs. Several of the perch I cut up for bait still had eggs in them as well.

![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/VKZg6E2.jpg) This is the only one me and my buddy get to bite last week. It’s been slow.

Nice! I’m hoping to get back after them in a week or so. We really need a good rain to get a water rise.

My son pulled one that was about 25 lbs out from G-ville Dam this afternoon. Ok, it's after 1:00 am so he caught it yesterday afternoon.

Be glad when i can get back to camp and get after 'em again. Hopefully won't be as many on the river as there was last week 😩

Saturday I anchored over some mussel beds. Stayed there until the heat chased us off the water. Blues, flatheads, and channels. Lost three that were drag pullers but never got them close enough to the boat for a visual. The bigger catfish we cleaned had a belly full of mussels.
