Mom has been wanting/needing a new weedeater to use since she works in the yard most everyday... naturally she’s gotten older and a little weaker and she mentioned a corded weedeater for weight purposes... I was thinking of trying to get her a battery powered one so she doesn’t have to fool with extension cords etc... are there any suggestions for one that won’t break the bank but also weighs less? She usually just cuts part of the grass etc multiple times a day while taking breaks... I have a gas powered but it’s to heavy (11-12lbs) and is a straight shaft... I am hoping for possibly a 8lb or lighter if there’s such a thing..any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are a lot out there, but black n decker makes some pretty lightwieght one's for light yard work that are easy to use.

Yeah most of it is light cutting so to speak.. anything thicker I take care of I just can’t make it there everyday and they are in the yard piddling pretty much everyday.

I recently bought a kobalt 40v string trimmer at Lowe's. Only used it once so far but it worked much better than I was expecting. Think it weighs 7 lbs, its pretty light. I bought it because I've been so impressed with the kobalt 40v pole saw I bought about a year ago. Battery life is very good and now I have 2 batterys

I have a Kobalt light duty electric chainsaw that does real good for small stuff. I wouldnt try it on a big job cause its only a 14" but it does cut for a solid two hours on one battery.

Some of the grass and weeds in the back yard pop uses chemicals for that.. but around the flower beds and garden etc.. it needs to be trimmed per mama😁

They ain’t got no $$ plus she enjoys it and they don’t let anyone in the yard other than immediate family.. pops is old and don’t like people.. and that’s the way they/I like it😁 most all of the fencing around the ponderosa is barb wired as well as electrified.. you usually have to call ahead to let them know you are coming..
