Just heard that there was going to be protest in downtown Jasper at 2pm today at the courthouse square. It's rumored that it's being headed by a group from Atlanta and that they would be targeting the Confederate monument on the square. The courthouse and businesses in the area have already shut down for the day.
Remember, wherever you go that's where you are.

The Atlanta group might want to rethink that selection of venue for the protest. I dont imagine Walker county is going to be very welcoming to the destruction of their Confederate Monument on the square.

The state troopers will be there to 100% to protect the protestors, not the other way around. Will be interesting to see if they just stand back and allow the protestors to once again destroy public property.

I was just sent a post that there are bricks being thrown from bridges on I-22 in Jasper and that several people have gone to the emergency room. If this is true it's most likely at the Parrish exit on I-22 since this just down from where the protest march started. Watch yourselves if you're traveling through Jasper on Interstate 22!
